The Canyon is a dive site named for its distinctive canyon formation, which divers can swim through heading either north or south. The site sits in a bay and holds a historically interesting encrusted anchor, so heavily covered in rock growth that many divers swim past it without noticing. Maximum depth is 18 m, with the canyon accessible from around 10 m down to deeper sections of the bay.
The terrain features the canyon passage itself with a sandy bottom, along with large barrel sponges and encrusted reef structure. The site is sheltered and protected, with no current, and visibility is consistently good. Water temperature ranges between 24–29°C depending on season.
Marine life at The Canyon includes moray eels, lobsters, crabs, groupers, barracudas, shrimp, French grunts, glassfish, and a variety of reef fish, alongside corals and barrel sponges. The protected status of the reef fish population here is worth noting.
The Canyon is rated beginner-level and suits all certification levels. Divers should be aware that the canyon swim-through has the character of a cave environment, so those without cave diving training should stay within the light zone and exercise appropriate caution.
