Yala Rock is a rock structure at Weligama on the south coast of Sri Lanka, about 30 kilometres east of Galle, rising up to 15 metres in height. Its caves and overhangs shelter a great deal of fish life.
Lionfish lurk in the shadows of the rock formations, and turtle sightings are common in the area. The sandy bottom between the reef structures is worth exploring, since crocodile fish and stingrays blend into it so well that they are easy to miss.
