Aliwal Shoal is a dive site off Umkomaas, on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. A pinnacle ridge runs along the shoal, and a resident family of whitetip reef sharks is encountered in particular spots along it.
Ragged-tooth sharks use the shoal as a breeding ground during the winter months, from May to October. They gather in large numbers between June and September.
