About this site
Arguineguin Reef is a volcanic reef just outside the port of Arguineguin in southern Gran Canaria. The long, stretched reef lies on a sandy bottom, is easy to navigate, and suits both beginners and experienced certified divers.
It is reached by boat and dived at about 15 metres. The rocky reef is full of cracks, crevices and openings that shelter marine life, and its layout makes a good drift dive when the current is favourable.
Trumpetfish use the reef as a nursery, moray eels hide until dusk, and octopus nest in the crevices. Sardines and roncadores are common, barracuda hunt above the reef, and stingrays are regular.
