About this site
Big Blue, also known as Hammerhead Shark Point, is an offshore dive site in the Maldives, about 15 minutes away by boat. It is a wall dive rated advanced, with a maximum depth of 30 metres, and it is exposed to surge and a strong current.
The site is best known for hammerhead sharks, which divers look for in the deep blue water at around 30 metres on an early morning dive. Divers have also reported oceanic whitetips, thresher sharks and grey reef sharks here, along with Napoleon wrasse and moray eels.
