Caja de Muertos is an uninhabited island off the southern coast of Puerto Rico, near Ponce, in the Caribbean Sea. Its name, meaning coffin box, is said to come from the shape of the island as seen from the water. The surrounding waters form part of a natural reserve and are reached by boat from the Ponce area. Divers visiting the site have reported bicolor damselfish, Caribbean bluehead wrasse, princess parrotfish, redband parrotfish, striped parrotfish, and yellowtail snapper around the reef.
