Cedarville is a large steel freighter lying in the Straits of Mackinac, and it is the largest of the eleven diveable shipwrecks in the Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Preserve. The ship sank in 1965, and the cold, fresh water of the Great Lakes has left the wreck remarkably well preserved.
Zebra mussels have settled on the wrecks here, and they have cleaned the water so much that visibility has improved tremendously. Swimming along the hull gives the feeling of travelling back in time.
