About this site
El Poris is a shore dive on the east coast of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, with a very easy entrance by giant stride or ladder into clear water. Depths run from 3 to 18 m.
The bottom is a mix of artificial wall, natural wall and sandy ground with seagrass areas. The usual route starts perpendicular to the wall, crosses the seagrass looking for the resident turtles, and then heads to the natural wall. Along the rock wall there is a statue of the Virgin Mary, and an underwater nativity scene.
A family of Atlantic green turtles lives here. Streaked gurnards, octopuses, cuttlefish and barracuda are also seen, and angel sharks appear in winter.

Its orientation makes the site practicable almost all year round. It is a good choice when conditions elsewhere are poor, suits divers of all levels, and works well for training.
