About this site

Fish Bowl is a sheltered reef dive site at Pulau Tenggol, Malaysia, ranging from 3 m to 18 m depth and rated suitable for beginner divers. The site is enclosed and protected from most swell directions, which keeps conditions accessible even in marginal weather when other sites at Tenggol are not diveable. Its shallow maximum depth and reliable shelter also make it the primary site used for Open Water certification training dives in the marine park.

The reef holds an exceptionally dense concentration of fish throughout the water column. Chromis, anthias, and damselfish are present at every depth, and multiple clownfish species occupy anemones at 6 to 10 m. The best diving season runs from March to October.

Entry is by boat, and currents at Fish Bowl are light, contributing to the site's suitability for new and less experienced divers. The sheltered position means the site remains diveable in conditions that close other Tenggol sites, making it a dependable option throughout the season.
