About this site
Guraidhoo Corner is a channel drift dive site located at the entrance of Guraidhoo channel in South Malé Atoll, Maldives. It is a classic reef corner dive, well known for its notorious incoming current that is often very strong, drawing nutrient-rich water into the channel and concentrating marine life along the reef edge.
The site is conducted as a drift dive, reached by boat, with divers carried along the current at the edge of the channel entrance. The reef features coral gardens as part of its underwater structure, though the defining characteristic of the site is the exposed corner position that channels strong water movement past the reef.
Guraidhoo Corner is best known for grey reef sharks patrolling the edge of the channel entrance, alongside high activity from other pelagic species. Divers can also expect sightings of white-tip sharks and eagle rays, as well as schools of fish drawn in by the nutrient-rich current. The site is productive year-round.

The strong and often notorious current makes this an intermediate-level dive rather than one suited to beginners. Visibility is good, consistent with the exposed channel position that keeps water clear and moving. The combination of reliable shark activity, pelagic encounters, and powerful current gives the site its reputation as one of the standout channel dives in South Malé Atoll.
