About this site

Half Moon Bay Wall is a wall dive site located just off Half Moon Bay on the west end of Roatan, Honduras, reachable in about one minute by boat from the nearest dock. The wall descends vertically from 15 metres (50 feet) to around 36 metres (120 feet), making it a classic Caribbean drop-off dive with dramatic vertical relief.

The wall is decorated with large Giant Barrel Sponge formations and healthy coral growth, with lobsters, eels, sea turtles, juvenile fish, sea fans, and sponges all recorded at the site. The verified marine life list also includes fish across the reef structure.

Half Moon Bay Wall is classified as suitable for all skill levels, including Open Water divers, and also accommodates technical divers given the depth range of the wall. It appears on recommended lists for Open Water wall dives and as a drift dive destination when combined with the neighbouring Werns' Dropoff site. Visibility at the site is rated as great.
