House Reef Lipah Bay is a shore-entry reef dive site located in Lipah Bay, with depths ranging from 5 to 40 metres and light to no current. The site features a shallow coral garden to the right of entry, filled with table corals and sea fans, which transitions into a slope more exposed to current where larger fish congregate. The northern end of the bay offers deeper sections with additional features along the reef.
The shallows are particularly noted as the best dive site in the area for spotting turtles, and baby sharks can be found sleeping under table corals. Hundreds of garden eels inhabit the sandy areas of the bay, making the calm, sheltered conditions ideal for locating small subjects. The verified marine life at this site includes painted frogfish, decorator crabs, pipefish, coconut octopus, leaf scorpionfish, common seahorse, mimic octopus, nudibranchs, blue-spotted stingrays, mantis shrimp, thornback boxfish, and scorpionfish.
Entry is from shore, and current runs from zero to small, making this a suitable site for beginner divers. Visibility is great, and the site can be dived year-round. The sheltered nature of the bay and the calm conditions make it particularly well-suited for finding macro life throughout the shallows.
