Isla Mujeres has a drift dive at the South Point of the island, off Cancun in Mexico. The dive starts in about 3.7 m (12 ft) of water just before the South Point and carries divers down to 14.6 m (48 ft) at the very end of the point.
From May until the end of June, large numbers of loggerhead turtles gather at the South Point to mate, which makes it the best time of year to see turtles in big groups. At the end of the point divers can see the remains of old shipwrecks, such as anchors and cannons, as well as large barracuda and big groups of fish. Stingrays are also common around Isla Mujeres.
