La Ventana Islet is a dive site at Wolf Island, located 115 miles north of the central Galápagos Islands and accessible only by boat as part of a liveaboard itinerary. Wolf Island is noted for holding the highest shark biomass globally, and La Ventana is one of several sites dived there, typically as an afternoon dive paired with El Derrumbe.
The reef features coral-covered areas alongside the broader Wolf Island terrain. Marine life at La Ventana includes colorful tropical fish, turtles, and sea stars, set within the wider Wolf Island environment that also draws hammerheads, whale sharks (in season), Galapagos sharks, silky sharks, and eagle rays.
Wolf Island diving operates in a 12-hour day format with up to four dives, and the site is reached entirely by liveaboard vessel — there is no shore access, as the island is open only to divers. The difficulty level across Wolf Island sites is rated moderate, though the area is subject to strong currents, which is the primary hazard divers should be prepared for.
