About this site
Le Piscine is a dive site at Vulcano, one of the seven Aeolian Islands north of Sicily, characterized by shallow volcanic terrain with the calm, sheltered conditions typical of the island's coastal pools.
The site suits beginners, with no current and easy entry conditions. Visibility in the waters around Vulcano can reach 10 to 20 metres depending on the season, with summer (June to September) bringing the clearest water and warmest temperatures of 22–27 °C; spring and autumn can bring stronger winds but similarly clear water.
The marine life at Le Piscine reflects the volcanic substrate characteristic of Vulcano's coast, with mixed rocky and sandy bottoms hosting saddled seabream, two-banded seabream, salema, moray eels, octopus, small grouper, bogue, sea anemones, and various algae adapted to volcanic substrates.
