Los Tuneles is a snorkelling and shallow-water site off Isabela Island in the Galapagos, also known as Cabo Rosa. The shore is a series of arcs and tunnels, formed by lava flowing into the ocean, that run both above and below the waterline. The water is calm, shallow and clear.
Giant sea turtles, manta rays, Pacific seahorses and colourful reef fish are seen here, along with white tail sharks resting nearby. From November to April the currents are weaker and the water is colder, and hammerhead sharks, manta rays and eagle rays are reported then. Visits inside the national park are made with a certified naturalist guide.
