Marlin Hill, also known as Turtle Heaven, is a fringing reef dive off Gili Air, Indonesia, about 15 minutes by boat. It is dived at 5 to 30 metres and more, from beginner to advanced, and it is one of the best sites in the Gilis for turtle encounters.
A steep coral slope runs parallel to the shoreline, with a large central coral mound rising from 30 metres to just 10 metres below the surface. Several green turtles rest on top of the mound while small surgeonfish and cleaner wrasse clean them, and hawksbill turtles graze on sponges in the shallow soft coral beds. A turtle sighting is nearly guaranteed.
You can also find mating octopus, raggy scorpionfish, peacock mantis shrimp, schooling fusiliers, cornetfish, angelfish and blubberlip snapper. False clown, orange and Clark's anemonefish live here. At the deep end, giant coral bommies at 30 to 35 metres hold large Malabar groupers, whitetip reef sharks, schooling snappers and eagle rays.
