Miss Opportunity

Miss Opportunity is a wreck dive site off St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, consisting of a 300-foot-plus hospital ship that was later repurposed as an office complex before sinking. The vessel now lies approximately three-quarters upside down at depths ranging from 55 to 90 feet (roughly 17 to 27 metres), making it one of the deeper wreck dives in the area.

The wreck is still largely intact and large enough to swim through, with the inverted orientation adding a disorienting but rewarding challenge for experienced divers. Because of the depth and the nature of the penetration diving on offer, this site is rated intermediate to advanced and is best suited to certified divers comfortable at depth.

Miss Opportunity is known as home to a huge goliath grouper (jewfish) along with other pelagics. Divers have also reported a couple of good-sized barracudas on the wreck.
