Napaling is a steep wall dive site located on the north side of Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines, reachable by boat from Alona Beach in approximately 30 minutes or directly from shore via stairs that lead down from the cliff to the sea.
The site is a deep wall where the reef drops away sharply, with table corals along the reef edge. The sardines gather in large schools typically within about 10 metres of the shoreline, and the shallow reef above the wall holds healthy hard corals and anemones alongside the wall's large sea fans and black corals.
Napaling is best known for its spectacular sardine run, with thousands to millions of sardines forming dense, shimmering schools. The wall also attracts schools of barracudas and mackerel, jackfish, moray eels, and abundant small reef fish among the table corals. Frogfish and pygmy seahorses are also recorded at the site.
Entry is from shore via cliff stairs, with the fish aggregation encountered almost immediately after entering the water. Stronger currents are present at the site, and advanced swimmers are recommended for the wall diving, though the shallow reef is accessible to beginners and snorkellers alike.
