Navy Island is a shallow cave site near Trincomalee with a maximum depth of 12 metres (39 feet). Rocky overhangs and igloo-like cave formations shelter large schools of reef fish, and lobsters are seen from time to time.
Angelfish, clownfish, turtles, moray eels and octopus are common sightings. The site is well suited to beginners and is popular for training dives and night dives.
