Nudibrancia lies in the Sipadan-Kapalai area off the coast of Sabah, on the eastern side of Malaysian Borneo. This part of the Celebes Sea is known for its patchwork of reef and sand-slope sites around Kapalai and Mabul, close to the more famous wall dives at Sipadan itself. As the name suggests, divers have reported a wide range of nudibranchs here, including Alcala's Chromodoris, Anna's Chromodoris, Diana's Chromodoris, Willan's Chromodoris, Coi's Goniobranchus, the Blue Dragon, and both Dusky and Lined Nembrotha. Crocodile flathead have also been spotted resting on the sand nearby.
