Nursing Station is a coral-encrusted lava flow in the southern marine reserve of Statia, a 10 minute boat ride away. Its maximum depth is 19 metres (63 feet) and it is graded beginner to intermediate.
Several old anchors from the 18th and 19th centuries lie around the site. Several deep overhangs shelter nurse sharks, which are commonly seen napping beneath them, and in the sandy patch divers often find a large number of lettuce sea slugs in various colours.
