Praia da Rocha is a shallow reef in the Tofo area, about 9 km away and a 15 to 20 minute trip, with depths of 10 to 14 metres. Large boulders cover the site, and hard and soft corals grow thickly over them. The channels between the boulders create a maze-like layout.
Its position close to shore and its shallow water allow more coral to grow than at the deeper sites nearby. Divers swim the channels looking for nudibranchs and shy reef fish, and the elusive Spanish Dancer nudibranch is a prize for those who look closely.
Sunlight and bright colours make it a favourite for photography, but the proximity to the rocky point means it can only be dived under specific conditions.
