Spiral Corner is a reef dive at the corner of the Lintea reef, named for the spiral corals that protrude from the point. The terrain combines a steep slope, a shallow coral garden, and a sandy bay, with depths running from 2 m to 40 m, making it accessible to beginners.
The dive typically begins along the steep slope, where nudibranchs, Zanzibar shrimps, and pygmy seahorses are found, before ascending into the shallows where light filters through a prolific coral garden. The dive finishes under the boat around a large coral block on a sandy bay that holds an exceptional concentration of macro life: stonefish, eggshell cowries, crocodile fish, comet fish, and rockmover wrasse. This is also noted as the only site where schooling puffer fish can be reliably encountered.
Entry and exit are boat-based, finishing directly beneath the vessel at the sandy bay. The site is rated suitable for beginners and also carries a technical dive rating, so the slope and deeper sections offer scope for more experienced divers as well.
Conditions at Spiral Corner reflect its outer-reef exposure. Water temperature ranges from 27–30 °C, and the best season runs October through May. Strong currents, downward currents, and split currents are all recorded hazards here, so timing the dive with the tide is recommended.
