The Dredge is the wreck of the South Australian, the Glenelg Dredge, a dredger lying in about 20 m of water off Glenelg in South Australia. It was sunk in 1985, the year after the neighbouring Glenelg Barge. The barge can be reached by following the star dropper trail about 20 m, best done in times of low current.
The wreck has a suction crane on the bow, and penetration through the boilers and engine room is unsafe. The main hazards are rusting metal, strong currents and silting.
Marine life around the dredge includes cuttlefish, old wives, bullseyes and leatherjackets, and the occasional wobbegong shark or blue devil. It is a wreck suitable for open water divers, and rooms on the wreck can fill with schools of bullseyes.
