Yamada, also called Yamada Point, is a boat dive in the Maeda Point area of Okinawa, about a 10 minute boat ride from the port. The maximum depth is 12 m.
The site is a mix of natural reef and an artificial coral farm, where marine biologists are trying to grow and protect many types of coral together with giant clams. The corals here are cultivated by hand, so it is a place to see restoration work as well as reef.
Marine life includes several species of anemonefish living among the anemones. The site is close to the Blue Cave, which has a maximum depth of 12 m, and to an outer reef reaching 25 m with cabbage coral and the chance of a green turtle, so it is often dived on the same trip. The conditions in the area are described as very good for courses and first dives.
