Amphoras is an archaeological dive site located off Cavtat, near Dubrovnik, Croatia, in the Adriatic Sea. It is named for a remarkable collection of more than 1,800 well-preserved amphorae resting on the seabed — the largest such finding in the Adriatic — making it a highly distinctive wreck-type site for divers with an interest in underwater archaeology.
The site sits at depths of 25 to 27 metres (maximum 28.5 m), with the amphorae spread across the bottom in their natural resting place. The concentration and preservation of the cargo makes it visually striking even by the standards of Mediterranean antiquity sites.
Marine life present at the site includes groupers, moray eels, and colourful reef fish, all observed in their natural environment among the amphorae. The best conditions run from May to October, with generally good visibility. The site is rated suitable for beginner divers, and access is by boat.
