About this site
Anker Wreck is a dive site at Menjangan Island, located in the northwest protected area of Bali. The site takes its name from a coral-encrusted anchor sitting at 15 m, which belonged to a 150-year-old wooden vessel whose remains lie on the seabed at around 40 m. Little of the original wooden wreck survives, but the anchor and scattered remnants form the focus of the dive.
The bottom at 40 m hosts sand-dwelling animals alongside gorgonians and nudibranchs, making it a productive site for smaller marine life despite the sparse wreck structure. Pelagics are also sometimes spotted at the site.
Menjangan Island sits within a protected area renowned for wall diving, and the broader reef system here is considered among the best in Bali for big pelagic encounters.
