Batu Nisan is a shallow reef dive site located right at the doorstep of Long Beach on Perhentian Island, Malaysia, serving as a house reef for the area. The site reaches a maximum depth of 10 metres with a sandy bottom and calm, protected water, making it a natural choice for training dives, first dive experiences, refresher courses, and buoyancy or photography practice — suitable for beginners as well as experienced divers.
The reef holds moray eels, puffers, boxfish, and turtles among its coral formations, with visibility typically good throughout the year. Blue-spotted rays and octopus are also encountered here, and the site is sheltered enough that conditions remain manageable year-round.
Entry is straightforward from the jetty at Long Beach, putting the reef immediately accessible from shore. Current is light and the protected exposure means conditions are stable, reinforcing its reputation as an ideal introductory and training site.
