C58 is a wreck off Cancun, Mexico, one of two large vessels in the area that were sunk deliberately to create artificial reefs. It is dived as a boat dive, together with the neighbouring C55 wreck, and the two ships are the main draw of the wreck diving in Cancun.
The wrecks sit between 60 and 80 feet (18 to 24 m), with a maximum depth of 24.6 m. That is below the 60 foot limit of an Open Water certification, so the dive suits divers with some experience beyond their entry-level course, at an intermediate level.
Since being sunk, the wrecks have become thriving habitats. Big schools of horse-eye jacks gather around them, along with tuna, grunts and porkfish moving over the structures.
The water is clear, with great visibility, and the two large vessels are impressive from the moment they come into view. The current is medium.
