Chileno Bay is a protected reef dive site located along the Corridor of Los Cabos, in the Sea of Cortez, reached by a roughly 30-minute boat ride from the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Depths run from 20 ft to 60 ft (8 m to 18 m), and the terrain is a rocky reef with sand patches — boulders, crevices, and a layout that lets you dive from one side of a rocky outcrop to the other. The shallower sections are considered the more impressive part of the site, and coral health here is notably better than in the Cabo San Lucas bay area due to lower human impact.
Marine life at Chileno Bay includes schooling jacks, snappers, and grunts around the rocky structure, with reef sharks resting under boulders. Turtles, eagle rays, and mobula rays pass through regularly. Sea fans are present across the reef, and white tip reef sharks are occasionally sighted as well.
The site is rated beginner to advanced and is considered one of the more accessible and popular sites along the Corridor. Calm, protected waters make it suitable for less experienced divers and snorkelers. Conditions along the Corridor can be affected by southern swells and north winds, so morning dives are generally preferred. Water temperature ranges from 21–29 °C.
