About this site

Driveway is a wall dive at West Caicos, Turks and Caicos. A defined sand chute bisects the top of the wall, and yellow-headed jawfish live in it.

Under the boat, in about 40 ft (12 m) of water, is a sand area with scattered coral heads. It leads into the sand chute, which runs down through the reef from 50 ft (15 m) to a ledge at around 80 to 100 ft (24 to 30 m), where the wall drops vertically. The ledge has good growth of plate and star corals. As elsewhere on the West Caicos wall, there is black coral and purple tube sponges.

Marine life includes sharks, groupers and black durgons. You can swim into the shallows to tour a coral garden, and finish the dive looking for drums and nurse sharks.
