Ghost Mountain is a free-standing coral pinnacle located outside the North Sound on Grand Cayman's North Wall, rising from the seafloor to a shallowest point of around 60 ft (18 m), with a maximum depth of 27 m (approximately 90 ft). The structure is completely free-standing, allowing divers to swim the full circumference and take in its vertical cliff-like formation from every angle.
The pinnacle is densely covered in soft corals that move in slow-motion currents, and its shaded recesses harbour blennies and cleaner shrimp. When visibility is clear, the surrounding open water provides strong blue-water scenery and active marine life, making the site particularly rewarding for photographers looking for silhouette and wide-angle shots.
Ghost Mountain sits on the North Wall alongside sites such as Babylon, Tarpon Alley, and Eagle Ray Pass, where reef-top depths begin around 60–65 ft (18–20 m) before the wall drops away. The site uses a permanent mooring in line with Grand Cayman's Marine Park rules, which prohibit anchoring. Current is light, and when conditions are calm, visibility regularly exceeds 80–100 ft. The site is rated advanced and is best suited to confident open-water and experienced divers.
