The Indians is a cluster of four rocky pinnacles located north of The Bight at Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands. The site's name dates to the days of sail, when sailors believed the rocks resembled Native American tepees. The pinnacles rise out of the water and drop to a sandy bottom at around 50 feet (15 metres), making this a shallow reef dive suited to beginners and snorkellers alike.
The terrain features beautiful coral gardens, shallow pools, a cave, and tunnels to explore. Currents are low and swells typically light, contributing to great visibility and comfortable conditions throughout. Because the site is extremely popular, planning an early arrival helps avoid crowds.
The Indians holds a wide variety of reef life across its pinnacles and surrounding corals, including sea fans, gorgonians, sponges, lobsters, schools of tropical fish, and sea turtles. The site is also visited as a snorkelling destination, where fish and crustaceans are plentiful among the coral gardens and shallow pools.
