Kalipayan

Kalipayan is a reef dive site located approximately 10 minutes by boat from Alona Beach, Panglao, in the Philippines, with a maximum depth of 25 m. The terrain features a reef with sandy areas dotted by coral blocks, and the lower sections hold deeper reef structure worth exploring systematically — from the reef above, through the sandy mid-zone with its coral blocks, down to the base.

The reef supports healthy coral growth and a reliable population of batfish that are almost always present in groups. Lionfish appear regularly, large stonefish occupy the lower reef, and a pair of robust pipefish are frequently found in the sandy area. Brightly coloured nudibranchs are present in numbers throughout the site.

Access is by boat, with a short 10-minute ride from Alona Beach. The site is also noted as a good night dive, and the sandy zones and coral block areas reward careful searching after dark as well as by day.
