Maeda Point, also known as Maeda Point–Blue Cave, is a reef dive site located at Cape Maeda in Onna village, Okinawa, Japan, and is widely regarded as the most prominent dive site on the island. Entry is possible by both boat and shore, and the site is well suited to beginners, though experienced divers can find rewarding exploration here too. The maximum depth reaches 10 m, and the terrain features a coral reef with cracks and crevices throughout.
The Blue Cave is the centrepiece of the site: the cave is open at the top, meaning divers always have access to the surface, which makes it safe enough for introductory-level Discover Scuba experiences as well as certified beginners.
Marine life at Maeda Point includes schools of fish moving around the coral reef, octopuses hiding in rock cracks, and turtles in the deeper sections of the site. The best conditions are found between April and October, with good visibility and no significant current.
