The Marianna is a 91-metre cargo ship lying on the seabed near Agios Prokopios, in the waters between Naxos and the neighbouring island of Paros, Greece. Originally built in Holland in 1961 and launched under the name "Neils Maersk," she was later renamed by Greek owners before crashing into a shallow reef and sinking in 1981; the entire crew were rescued by a passing vessel. The wreck rests at a maximum depth of 23 metres and has since become an artificial reef colonised by thousands of fish and a wide variety of marine creatures.
The site is well suited to beginner and intermediate divers gaining their first experience of wreck diving, and conditions during the long summer months are consistently calm with great visibility. The dive is conducted from Agios Prokopios by boat.
