Naama Bay is a dive site within the bay of the same name at Sharm el Sheikh, in the Egyptian Red Sea, and is considered one of the least known sites in the area despite its central location. The bay's bottom is composed of large areas of sand and sea grass rather than the drop-offs and coral gardens typical of nearby sites.
The site is well suited to night diving, when the protected, calm waters come into their own. The sandy slope is gentle and scattered with coral outcrops.
The sandy and sea-grass habitat supports marine life that is largely absent from the region's reef and wall sites. Nudibranchs, wart slugs, ghost pipefish, shrimpfish, and seahorses are characteristic of the site, alongside crocodilefish and stonefish. Night diving here brings out sleeping parrotfish, active octopuses, and Spanish dancers.
