Ped is a reef on the north side of Nusa Penida, named for the temple Pura Ped that stands on the beach in front of it.
The reef slopes gently from the shallows to about 18 metres and then falls away more steeply. Almost every dive here is a drift. The water is usually 27 to 29C, warmer than at many other Nusa Penida sites, but upwellings can drop the temperature a little and down-currents can occur, so stay alert.
The corals are healthy and colourful, and the site is famous for its many sea turtles. Larger animals also pass along the reef from time to time.
