About this site

Pickles Reef is a shallow reef dive at Key Largo in the Florida Keys, with depths of 10 to 25 feet (3 to 7.6 metres) and a place among the sites open to all levels.

The reef is built from barrel-shaped coral heads laid out in a spur-and-groove pattern, which makes navigation easy, and the coral is healthy. Stingrays and juvenile nurse sharks are found in the sand channels.

Conditions are usually calm, and the site is one of those commonly chosen by newly certified divers. Visibility is great, there is no current, and the water stays between 24 and 31°C through the year.
