Gato Island sits off the northern coast of Cebu in the Visayas region of the Philippines, a small islet reached by boat from the Malapascua area, and Seahorse Cave is one of the swim-through formations cut into its limestone within the protected marine sanctuary. Divers exploring it have reported whitetip reef sharks resting in the cave as well as a range of macro life along the walls, including crested and dusky nembrotha, painted and sky blue phyllidia, varicose wart slugs, striped clingfish, hairy red hermit crabs, and ornate ghostpipefish. Local operators run trips out to the site as a day excursion combined with other dives near Malapascua.
