About this site
Secret Bay is a muck diving site at the tip of the Calumpan Peninsula in Anilao. It was once an unpleasant stretch of rough sand and has become a premier macro destination that helped put Anilao on the map.
The site is a long, mucky, sandy slope that extends about 150 metres into the bay, with depths of 10 to 22 metres. The western end near Mainit is known for nudibranchs, the middle has rocks and seagrass, and the barren eastern and central sand holds sea pens and fire urchins.
Coconut octopus, Rhinopias, zebra crabs, seahorses, cuttlefish, frogfish and snake eels all turn up here, and the eastern side is known for wunderpus and mimic octopus. Numbers of divers have reduced some critter sightings, so look and do not touch.

Visibility is usually good at around 10 metres. The site can be a little rough during the northeast monsoon, and Amihan seasonal changes may stir up the bottom. Some trash drifts in from the bay.
