Sounio, also known as Cape Sounion, is a dive just beneath the ancient temple of Poseidon, with depths from 5 to 24 metres. Small caves and canyons with strong colours break up the rock, and the sea is almost always flat, which also makes it a good place for a night dive.
Visibility is around 20 metres and currents are light. The site is one of the dives in an area that also takes in the reefs and wrecks of Makronisos island and the surrounding islets, and it is graded advanced.
