Swanee Reef is a natural reef in Baja California that caused the wreck of the ferry Salvatierra, which sank in 1976 after hitting it. It is a beginner dive in about 30 ft (9 m) of water and is also a snorkel site.
Schools of fish, nudibranchs, octopus and frogfish live among the corals. Sea lions often rest here, and the reef is a favourite with underwater photographers.
