The Leaf lies in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, among the reef sites scattered along that island's shoreline. Divers here have reported finger coral, greater star coral, massive starlet coral, and mustard hill coral forming the reef structure, with Atlantic blue tang, Brazilian ocean surgeonfish, Caribbean bluehead wrasse, and redband parrotfish also spotted around the site.
