Turtle Rock is a reef dive site at Puerto Galera, Philippines, reached by following the slope down from the bottom of Sinandigan Wall to a giant rock sitting at around 40–45 m. The site's name comes from the shape of a surface rock that dive guides use to locate the spot, not from any expectation of encountering turtles on the dive itself.
The terrain is a sloping reef descending to a maximum depth of 40 m (41.7 m verified), leading to the large rock formation below. The rock is healthy with marine life, including Gorgonian fans and whip corals, and the site is classed as a technical dive given its depth and the limited bottom time available at that level.
Marine life at Turtle Rock includes Gorgonian fans, whip corals, Sweetlips, Emperor Angelfish, and unusual nudibranchs. The site is also known as a place where a Thresher Shark may be spotted. Moray eels, crustaceans, and colourful fish have also been recorded here.
The site is best dived on a flood tide, and because bottom time is short at depth, the recommended approach is to follow the slope back up to Sinandigan Wall and finish the dive shallow, making for a longer and more relaxed overall dive. Current is generally light. Turtle Rock is suited to divers who hold deep diver training.
