Virginia Merchant is a reef system off Bermuda built around a ship that sank in 1661. Although the site counts as a wreck, the sea has reclaimed her completely, and fragments of her wooden hull reappear only after powerful storms.
What remains is a maze-like reef of twisting tunnels, narrow swim-throughs and hidden chambers. The bottom sits at 55 feet (16.8 metres), and the site suits divers who enjoy slipping through tight passages and exploring the reef from the inside out.
