West Point is a steep wall dive, with the wall in the north becoming more of a slope as it runs south. There are sandy ledges at around 20 to 25 metres. The current can be strong, so it pays to check it before going in and to choose a direction to suit, and being carried along the wall is exhilarating.
Small caves along the wall shelter orange-spotted groupers. The wall drops deep, but there is little to see below 25 metres, and the shallow reef top is good for snorkelling.
