Chub Hole is a reef site in Collier's Bay at Grand Cayman's East End, about 20 minutes from the dock, with the mooring at 22 feet (7 m) and a maximum depth of 60 feet (18 m). It is at 19°21'01.0"N, 81°05'03.0"W and works for snorkellers too.
Fishermen avoid the area because they only catch Bermuda chub. To the southeast of the mooring the miniwall is a mishmash of tunnels, canyons and archways packed with chub. Tarpon sit in the narrow canyons, unbothered by divers, and rarer finds such as slipper lobster hide in the gloomy recesses.
To the north the reef opens into large open-sided overhangs and tall fingers of coral. In the right season vast numbers of tiny juvenile fish swim just above every coral head. Colliers Bay has an excellent record of sightings of giant loggerhead turtles cruising the reef.
