Snapper Hole is a reef dive site located on the East End of Grand Cayman, grouped with sites such as Grouper Grotto and Ironshore Gardens in one of the island's more remote diving areas. The reef is noted for shallow cavern structures described as resembling Swiss cheese, giving divers a distinctive, honeycomb-like terrain to explore at depths of around 50–60 ft (15–18 m).
The East End's reefs, including Snapper Hole, are fed by ocean currents that keep the coral in particularly healthy condition, and visibility runs great. Those same currents mean conditions can be brisker than on the sheltered West Side, and the site is considered best suited to experienced divers who are comfortable with medium current.
Snapper Hole is a boat dive accessed via a permanent mooring; anchoring is banned under Grand Cayman's Marine Park rules. The East End's greater distance from the main tourist centres means moorings here are typically far less crowded than those on the West Wall, rewarding divers who make the journey with near-empty reefs. Sea turtles are commonly spotted on the eastern reefs, with several turtle nesting sites along the nearby shoreline.
